Gairsain, 21 Aug: Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Yashpal Arya today criticised the government’s decision to keep the duration of the assembly session short. Speaking to the media persons here, today, he observed that the duration of the monsoon session of the Assembly has been kept very short. In a session of just three days, the first day would go in condolence messages, which would leave very little time left for other business in the House over the remaining two days. The government will table the bills and get the supplementary budget passed and then the session would be adjourned. Arya said that the session of the assembly should be of more days.

On the other hand, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami claimed that the members would freely discuss issues together in the interest of the state. The supplementary budget would be passed. When asked about the allegation of a very short session levelled by the Opposition, Dhami commented that the session is convened and scheduled according to the business at hand. The members will get more opportunities to discuss issues in future sessions as well.
