Yatra arrangements have improved claims BKTC Chairman

Dehradun, 23 May: Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay today claimed that the arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra have improved significantly after some initial days of struggle and difficulty. In a statement issued today, Ajay admitted that during the initial days of the Yatra, the arrangements did fall short due to unprecedented rush of the pilgrims, but now the government is managing the Yatra quite efficiently.

He asserted that the Yatra is being conducted well under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Ajendra Ajay added that this year the number of devotees in Char Dham Yatra has increased manifold, which is a matter of pride for the people of Uttarakhand. Devotees from India and abroad are showing great interest in the Dhams. He reminded that the Char Dham Yatra had remained totally disrupted during the Covid pandemic causing despair among those related to the Yatra which is an important axis of the state’s economy and a major source of livelihood. Once the Covid pandemic was under control, Chief Minister Dhami made tireless efforts to bring it back on track. The state government also presented its stand on the Yatra before the High Court to get the restrictions imposed by the Court relaxed. Now, the Yatra is setting new records.

He advised people who are making negative statements regarding the Yatra not to tarnish the image of the state through inappropriate and negative claims. They can instead make positive suggestions towards further improving the Yatra management.
