Dehradun, 5 Jan: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is currently on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand, where he is scheduled to attend his nephew’s wedding and participate in various programmes around his native village, Panchur, in Yamkeshwar Block, Pauri district. He arrived at Panchur this evening today and will stay overnight.

During his stay in Panchur village, Yogi Adityanath will attend his nephew’s wedding tomorrow and the day after. The Pauri District Administration has made extensive preparations for his visit. District Magistrate Dr Ashish Chauhan personally visited the area to inspect the arrangements and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Special attention has been paid to ensuring the successful organisation of the programmes lined up for Yogi’s participation as well as to the security arrangements during these programmes. The district administration has thoroughly reviewed security and other preparations for his visit. District Magistrate Dr Ashish Chauhan has instructed the preparation of programme venues in Vithyani, along with the helipads at Kandi and Yamkeshwar.

In addition to attending the wedding ceremony, Yogi Adityanath is also scheduled to inaugurate a 100-feet-high national flag at Guru Gorakhnath Government College, Vithyani, tomorrow. He will also attend the Kisan Mela and Vikas Exhibition, as well as inaugurate the Agriculture Fair of Pantnagar University. Chief Minister Adityanath is scheduled to return to Lucknow on 8 February.

It may be recalled that, although Yogi hails from Yamkeshwar Block in Pauri district and has studied till MSc at Garhwal University, he left the state at a very young age, leaving his MSc incomplete to join the Guru Goraksh Nath Peeth in Gorakhpur, which he is now leading as the head. After taking Sanyas, his visits to his native place Panchur have been rather limited. He could not even attend his father’s last rites and later visited his ailing mother. Last month, there was a strong speculation about him visiting Uttarakhand for the civic election campaign and claims to this effect had been made by senior BJP leaders. The Uttarakhand BJP organisation and the election candidates made considerable efforts to bring him for campaigning. However, he could not attend due to his busy schedule with the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. However, he spent several days in Delhi, campaigning for BJP in the Assembly Elections there.
