Mussoorie, 6 Jul: A major accident was averted last night near the zero point on Mussoorie-Kempty Road. A WagonR car of two youths who had come to visit Mussoorie from Delhi went out of control due to dense fog and slipped from the main road and fell on the road below. The accident was so terrible that the car was badly damaged, but luckily both the youths riding in it miraculously survived.
The incident happened at around 3 a.m., when Deepak Nimish, son of Sanjay Singh, and Harnan, son of Mohammad Jaleem, both residents of Kavi Nagar, Delhi, were going from Mussoorie to Kempty. Suddenly the car driver could not see the road due to dense fog and the vehicle plunged downhill.
Following information given by the local people, Mussoorie Police, Fire Service and 108 Ambulance immediately reached the spot. Both the youths suffered minor injuries and were taken to Mussoorie Sub-District Hospital for treatment, where they were discharged after first aid.
Mussoorie Fire Officer Dheeraj Tadiyal said that the car DL2-CBE-7392 was saved from falling into a deep ditch because it hit a lower turn of the road. If the car had fallen further, the accident could have taken a serious turn. Police are investigating the matter, and the families of the victims have been informed.
