The events in Athletics, Badminton and Table Tennis were closely contested by around 150 PWD (Persons with Disabilities) employees of ONGC. While cheering the participants, Director Dr Alka Mittal said that in the next ONGC Para Games, all efforts would be made to augment the participation to 80 per cent of the PWD employees of ONGC, from the current level of around 50 per cent. Director Subhash Kumar said that the level of enthusiasm in the participants was praiseworthy and the passion behind them to compete was worthy of emulation.
Over 150 PWD employees, around 50 per cent of the total PWD employees at various locations of ONGC, participated in the event this year.
The ONGC Para Games, which are now an annual event in ONGC, have been organised following the international format issued by the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI). Some Kargil War heroes, who are now employees of ONGC, also participated in the Para Games.
