Dehradun, 17 Apr: Uttarakhand continues to report high numbers of fresh Covid cases over the past two weeks. In the past 24 hours, 90 fresh cases of Covid were reported in the state, the maximum being reported from Dehradun at 56. Surprisingly, even as Dehradun continues to report the high number of cases every day over the past few days, Haridwar has reported only 8 cases in the past 24 hours.
Six cases of Corona were reported from Nainital district in the past 24 hours, 5 each from Champawat, Tehri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal, 4 from Pithoragarh and Tehri Garhwal, and 2 each from Udham Singh Nagar and Almora, and 1 each from Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal. No case was reported from Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts, where no sample was collected or sent for testing to the lab.
As against the total number of 391 samples sent for testing in Dehradun district, only 151 samples were collected and sent for testing in Haridwar during the past 24 hours. Also, 83 samples were sent for testing in Nainital and 57 in Champawat, 64 in Tehri Garhwal, whiel 52 samples were collected and sent for testing in Udham Singh Nagar and 23 in Uttarkashi. Additionally, 29 samples were sent for testing in Rudraprayag, 28 in Pauri Garhwal and 16 in Pithoragarh.
With 90 fresh cases of Corona reported in the state, the total number of active cases of Corona in the state has gone up to 302. No deaths were reported in the past 24 hours due to Corona in the state, while 78 recoveries were reported in the same period.
