DEHRADUN, 4 Jul: Addressing a press conference at the Media Centre in the Secretariat here on Saturday, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is being carried out across the State with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. The distribution and digitisation of enumeration forms, which had begun on June 8, is scheduled to conclude on July 7. It was also shared that Uttarakhand has digitised nearly 99 per cent of voter enumeration forms under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, and that the exercise is progressing rapidly ahead of the publication of the draft electoral rolls on July 14.
Jogdande informed that against a total electorate of 79,60,762 in Uttarakhand, enumeration forms of 71,16,650 electors have already been digitised. He said 8,41,020 electors presently fall under the “uncollected category”. This includes 1,24,278 deceased electors, 4,79,762 who have permanently shifted from their registered addresses, 61,888 voters who are already registered elsewhere, 1,66,741 electors found absent during the verification process and 8,351 voters categorised under other reasons. With the inclusion of these categories, data and forms relating to a total of 79,57,670 electors have been digitised, accounting for almost 99 per cent of the state’s electorate.
He said the draft electoral roll will be published on July14, following which claims and objections may be submitted between 14 July and 13 August. The period for issuance of notices and disposal of claims and objections has been scheduled from July 14 to September 11, while the final electoral roll will be published on September 15.
Appealing for greater participation from the recognised political parties in the revision exercise, Jogdande urged them to ensure 100 per cent appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) across the state. He said Uttarakhand has 11,733 polling booths and, against these, recognised political parties have so far appointed a total of 23,102 BLAs.
According to the figures shared during the Press conference, the BJP has appointed 11,504 BLAs, covering nearly 98 per cent of polling booths, while the Congress has appointed 11,105 BLAs, representing about 95 per cent coverage. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has appointed 378 BLAs, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has appointed 115 BLAs, whereas the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not appointed any Booth Level Agent in the state so far.
The Additional Chief Electoral Officer (ACEO) emphasised that active cooperation from all recognised political parties would help ensure the accuracy, transparency and comprehensiveness of the electoral rolls before the final publication of the revised voter list in September.
