Mussoorie Traders & Welfare Association elections to be held on 27 March

Mussoorie, 19 Mar: A crucial meeting of the Election Committee regarding the upcoming elections of the Mussoorie Traders and Welfare Association was held in the auditorium of the Tilak Memorial Library here, today, presided over by Chief Election Officer Dhan Prakash Agarwal. Members of the election executive and candidates contesting the election were invited to the meeting, where a detailed discussion was held regarding election preparations and arrangements.

During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that the Radha Krishna Temple would serve as the polling station for the elections scheduled for 27 March. Furthermore, the counting of votes will also be conducted in the auditorium located within the same premises. The election process will commence at 9 a.m. and continue until 3:30 p.m., immediately after which the counting of votes will begin.

This time, elections will be held for five key posts within the organisation: President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, and Secretary. With the objective of ensuring maximum participation of traders in the election, the deadline for membership registration has been extended from 21 March to 5 p.m. on 22 March.

Chief Election Officer Dhan Prakash Agarwal stated that all necessary arrangements are being made to conduct the elections in a fair, transparent, and organised manner. He clarified that only registered voters would be granted entry to the polling station; this measure aims to help maintain order and prevent any form of disruption. He remarked that the Mussoorie Traders and Welfare Association is one of the significant trade bodies not only in Mussoorie but also across Uttarakhand and the entire country; therefore, upholding its dignity is the responsibility of everyone. He appealed to the voters to ensure their registration in a timely manner so that they may exercise their franchise, elect a worthy representative, and thereby further strengthen the organisation. He also informed that assistance has been requested from the Mussoorie Police, the local administration, and the Fire Services to ensure security and facilitate peaceful voting.

Neeraj Agarwal, Madan Mohan Sharma, Sunil Panwar, Rakesh Agarwal, Anil Goyal, Sunil Sonkar, Rajat Agarwal, Suresh Goyal, Jagjit Kukreja, Shanu Verma, Atul Agarwal, Nagendra Uniyal, Anjuman, Salim Ahmed, Rajiv Agarwal, Ravi Goyal, Ramesh Rao, and other traders were present at the meeting.
