DEHRADUN, 18 Mar: The Government of India has extended significant economic relief and developmental impetus to Uttarakhand under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) guidelines for the financial year 2026-27. This year’s guidelines include a distinctive provision titled “Pride of Hills”, which is aimed at ensuring additional financial support to the hill states. Under this initiative, Uttarakhand will receive an extra allocation of Rs 3,460 crore during 2026-27, a measure expected to accelerate infrastructure growth and overall development across the state.
In addition to this, the State will benefit from Rs 765 crore in untied funds, enabling the government to implement schemes according to its own priorities and requirements.
Expressing gratitude for this crucial support, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that with the Centre’s continued cooperation, Uttarakhand is expanding new dimensions of development and moving swiftly on the path of progress.
