Rajasthan & Odisha State Foundation Days celebrated at Lok Bhawan

Dehradun, 1 Apr: As part of the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” campaign, a programme was organised at Lok Bhawan today to celebrate the State Foundation Days of Rajasthan and Odisha. Officials from Rajasthan and Odisha working in Uttarakhand, along with other dignitaries, attended the event.

The programme featured cultural dance performances by girls from Odisha, showcasing the rich traditions of the state, which captivated the audience.

Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) congratulated and extended his best wishes to the people of Rajasthan and Odisha. He said that such events are symbols of India’s great tradition of “Unity in Diversity”, binding the nation together. He emphasised that these celebrations are not just about state foundation days but are a living example of India’s cultural integration, strengthening emotional connections among states.

The Governor highlighted that the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” initiative reflects the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, promoting the exchange of culture, language, and traditions between different states. He added that India’s greatest strength lies in this unity in diversity, which ensures the country’s stability, security, and prosperity.

He also noted that, in today’s global scenario, national unity has become even more important, and such programmes play a vital role in fostering harmony and cooperation in society.

The event was attended by PCCF (HoFF) Dr Ranjan Kumar Mishra; Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Sharda Prasanna Subuddhi; Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman; Additional Secretary Reena Joshi; Additional Secretary Rohit Kumar Meena; Chief Conservator of Forests, Projects & Community Forestry, Sushant Kumar Patnaik; Chief Conservator of Forests, Promotion & Eco-Tourism, Prasanna Kumar Patro; representatives of the Odisha community Pranati Subuddhi, Dr SP Subuddhi, Balbir Singh, Dr Janki Ballav Rath, other officials and staff.

This programme highlighted the spirit of national integration, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among Indian states.
