Pauri, 10 May: A car went out of control and fell into a ditch in the Dehlichauri area of ​​the district on Sunday morning. One woman died in the accident, while four others were seriously injured. Police have prepared an inquest report of the deceased woman and sent it for further investigation. The other injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to reports, an Eco car lost control and fell into a 50- to 60-metre-deep ditch about 800 metres from Arkani Bend in the Dehalchauri area of ​​the district on Sunday. One woman died in the accident, while four others were injured.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene with relief and rescue equipment. With the help of local residents, all the injured were rescued. According to police, the vehicle was driven by Rohit Thapliyal, who was returning to Rudraprayag from village Bhenta, Kot Block, after attending a wedding ceremony. Five people, including the driver, were in the vehicle.

During the rescue operation, police constable Badri Lal took the seriously injured woman to the base hospital Srikot in his private vehicle for treatment, where she died during treatment. The other injured were sent to the hospital with the help of 108 ambulance and are being treated. The condition of all the injured is currently said to be out of danger.

The deceased woman has been identified as 49-year-old Anita Bhatt, wife of Shashi Ram Bhatt, resident of Jakhan, Ansal Green Valley, Rajpur Road. The injured include driver Rohit Thapliyal, son of Premchand Thapliyal, resident of Ratuda Rudraprayag, age 24, Rashmi Devi, wife of Premchand Thapliyal, resident of the above mentioned area, age 45,

Sudha Devi, wife of Jagdish Prasad, resident of Ratuda Rudraprayag, age 54, Suman Bisht, daughter of Gajpal Singh Bisht, resident of village Bhenta Dehalchori, Srinagar district Pauri Garhwal, age 26 years are included.
