Dehradun, 14 May: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Vijay Kumar Jogdande today briefed the media at the Secretariat about the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme. He said that the Election Commission of India has announced the third phase of the campaign for 19 states, including Uttarakhand, which will be conducted on the basis of the qualifying date of 1 July 2026. He added that preparations under the guidance of Chief Electoral Officer Dr BVRC Purushottam have been completed.

Dr Jogdande stated that, between 29 May and 7 June 2026, printing of enumeration forms and training of staff will be carried out. From 8 June to 7 July 2026, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door surveys for distribution and collection of forms. The draft roll will be published on 14 July 2026, with claims and objections invited until 13 August 2026. Notices will be issued and disposal of claims and objections will take place between 10 July and 11 September 2026, while the final electoral roll will be published on 15 September 2026.

Jogdande also shared that Uttarakhand currently has 11,733 polling booths, against which political parties have appointed 21,808 Booth Level Agents. He urged all parties to ensure hundred per cent deployment of BLAs. He added that from April onwards, intensive door-to-door campaigns will be conducted to complete mapping of booths with special focus on those with low coverage. He explained that absent, shifted and death (ASD) lists are being prepared for every booth to ensure thorough purification of the voter rolls.

He also shared information regarding a new facility introduced by the Election Commission for voters’ convenience. Through the “Book a Call with BLO” feature, voters can schedule a call with their Booth Level Officer in just one click by visiting https://voters.eci.gov.in or downloading the ECI-NET mobile app. Once a call is booked, the BLO will contact the voter within two days.

Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das and media nodal officer Ravi Bijaraniya were among those present on the occasion.
