Dehradun, 22 May: Health Minister Subodh Uniyal today carried out a surprise inspection of the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Raipur to assess the ground-level status of healthcare services there. During the inspection, all the doctors were found present and on duty. The minister also carried out a detailed review of the healthcare facilities being provided to patients at the hospital.
Uniyal first inspected the registration counter and later reviewed the hospital’s OPD, medicine distribution centre, wards, emergency ward and cleanliness arrangements. He also interacted with the patients visiting the hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. During the inspection, he also reviewed the ECG OPD being operated at the hospital.
During the visit, Subodh Uniyal said doctors should discharge their duties with full responsibility and sensitivity so that patients receive better treatment and timely healthcare services. He issued clear instructions that the hospitals must ensure adequate arrangements so that patients are not compelled to purchase medicines from outside.
The minister also laid special emphasis on maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the hospital premises. He said providing respectful and quality healthcare services to patients was among the government’s top priorities.
During the inspection, the Health Minister also reviewed the under-construction new building of CHC Raipur. He said the new building would help provide modern and improved healthcare facilities to the local residents. He added that the hospital’s efficiency would improve further through advanced resources and better organised medical services.
Uniyal directed the Health Department officials to ensure that every patient visiting the hospital receives timely treatment, the medicines and necessary diagnostic facilities so that the public can get proper relief and healthcare support.
