Dehradun, 8 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a meeting at the Secretariat here today, during which, he reviewed the progress of twelve major infrastructure and development projects worth Rs 6940 crores through the state’s progress portal. These projects cover key sectors including transport, energy, public works department (PWD), the national highways, the roads managed by the Border Roads Organisation and other departmental schemes. He emphasised that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a Developed India by 2047 requires collective effort and directed officials to accelerate work on all the projects, works and schemes.
The CM made it clear that he would review the projects every month. The review meetings held at the level of Chief Secretary would be every ten days. He also asserted that the delays would attract responsibility and strict action against the officials concerned. He also added that the projects that have achieved more than fifty per cent progress must be completed by 15 October 2026. He reiterated that the government’s priority is to finish all the development works under progress within the stipulated timeframe. He also stressed on a swift resolution of pending matters related to land transfer, forest clearances, land acquisition and compensation payments through coordinated departmental action.
Dhami also directed that the progress portal be used as an effective monitoring mechanism to ensure regular review and timely disposal of pending cases. He commented that unnecessary delays not only hamper development but also adversely affect public interest and economic activity. The meeting mainly reviewed the status of Ramnagar ISBT, Ranikhet bus terminal, Tadikhet depot and workshop, Banbasa and Rudraprayag power sub‑stations, Char Dham road projects, Askot–Lipulekh route, Mana Pass Road project and national highway works in Haridwar and Kashipur.
The CM further instructed the departments to set clear timelines for resolving the pending issues related to the forest land transfer, environmental approvals, land acquisition and compensation distribution. District Magistrates were asked to personally monitor cases at the district level to ensure their speedy disposal.
Dhami also noted that the projects linked to the Char Dham Yatra, strategically important border roads, power infrastructure and transport facilities are vital for the state’s overall development and for public convenience. Timely execution of these projects will boost tourism, trade, investment and employment opportunities, he observed. The CM also directed the officials to assign responsibility for each project, monitor progress regularly and prepare special action plans for those lagging behind to achieve quick results.
Among those present at the meeting were Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu and R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Brijesh Kumar Sant and Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Additional Secretaries Meharban Singh Bisht, Banshidhar Tiwari and other senior departmental officers, while the District Magistrates (DMs) joined virtually.
