Dehradun, 9 Jun: BJP today described Narendra Modi’s record as the longest serving elected Prime Minister as the beginning of India’s golden era. State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt on this occasion has extended congratulations to the PM on behalf of the people and workers of Devbhoomi. In a statement issued today, Bhatt asserted that Modi’s historic leadership over the past twelve years has been dedicated not only to the transformation of the nation but also to the development of Uttarakhand. He emphasised that Modi’s special affection and visionary guidance have placed the state among the leading and self‑reliant regions of the country.
Bhatt noted that Modi’s tenure is not merely a matter of duration but represents a golden age of national reconstruction, cultural resurgence and fulfilment of the principle of Antyodaya. Through bold decisions and far‑sighted policies, India has become stronger and more self‑reliant, emerging as the world’s fourth largest economy and the fastest growing even amidst global crises. He said that reforms, digital revolution and a robust foreign policy have established India as a major power on the world stage, while the Prime Minister’s governance has remained committed to Antyodaya, good governance and the spirit of nation first.
Bhatt also recalled Modi’s statement that “the third decade of the 21st century will belong to Uttarakhand”, and added that his statement has given new energy and direction to the state’s progress. Under Modi’s guidance, the reconstruction of Kedarnath and the Badrinath master plan have been carried out, making the Char Dham pilgrimage smoother, safer and grander. With central support, Uttarakhand is experiencing a connectivity revolution through the all‑weather road and the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag rail project, which is set to fulfil the long‑cherished dream of railways in the hills. Programmes such as Vibrant Villages have transformed border settlements once called the ‘last villages of the country into the ‘first villages of the nation,’ helping to check migration and strengthen local economies. Bhatt further reminded that expansion of AIIMS Rishikesh, establishment of a satellite centre in Udham Singh Nagar and development of medical colleges in every district have been milestones in health services in the state. The fulfilment of the long‑pending demand for One Rank One Pension (OROP) has brought justice to thousands of soldier families in Uttarakhand.
On this historic occasion, Bhatt expressed gratitude to Modi, saying that his twelve years in office have been a period of ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ for Uttarakhand. He added that the people of Uttarakhand will remain forever indebted for the Prime Minister’s affection and development‑oriented vision. Bhatt also prayed for his good health and long life so that his guidance continues to lead the nation towards the resolve of a developed India.
