DEHRADUN,  20 Jun: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticised the Opposition for repeatedly attempting to create ‘confrontation against State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt and the ministers of Dhami government. Speaking informally with the media persons at the BJP State headquarters here on Saturday, Party general secretary Kundan Parihar described these actions of the Opposition leaders as a cheap political tactic aimed at gaining popularity on social media. He claimed that such repeated indecent behaviour has caused deep resentment among the party workers.
Responding to questions from the journalists at party headquarters regarding recent incidents in Chamoli and elsewhere, Parihar stated that despite being the world’s largest political organisation, every BJP worker remains highly disciplined. He emphasised that while the party registers democratic protests, it does not resort to forcibly creating conflict as the opposition does. He asserted that BJP neither supports nor believes in such disruptive politics, and violence or indecent incidents of this nature are unacceptable in a democracy.
Parihar launched a sharp attack on the opposition’s hidden strategies, saying that while everyone has the right to raise issues and express dissent, it must be done in a symbolic and dignified manner. He condemned acts such as lying in front of leaders’ vehicles, using abusive language, hurling insults or preventing someone from reaching their destination, calling them a distorted and dangerous culture emerging in Uttarakhand. He said this behaviour reflects the opposition’s frustration, as BJP’s popularity continues to rise and the people endorse the development works of the double engine government.
Issuing a stern message, Parihar asserted that as a responsible political party BJP expects the Opposition not to forget its limits. He stressed that in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand there is no place for indecent language, abusive behaviour or violent practices. He added that repeated incidents of this nature have provoked strong anger among BJP workers and urged the opposition to immediately desist from such distorted politics.
