Dehradun, 21 Jun: On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, Shri Krishna Yogpeetham – SKY Foundation, Dehradun, under the leadership of its founder Yoga Guru Krishna Avatar, organised large-scale yoga practice sessions in collaboration with various social, educational, and professional institutions. Conducted in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, these sessions included warm-up exercises, yoga postures (asanas), pranayama, and meditation, promoting awareness about health and well-being across society.

On this special occasion, Yoga Guru Krishna Avatar successfully conducted yoga sessions at the following key locations, bringing together people from diverse sections of society. At the Tibetan Old Age Home and Premdham Old Age Home (Dalanwala), special yoga sessions were organised for senior citizens to enhance mental peace and physical mobility. At the Missionaries of Charity (Dehradun), residents and staff members were introduced to simple and effective yoga practices to promote health awareness. Elderly women and girl students of the Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Ashram were encouraged to embrace yoga for self-confidence and physical well-being.

At the Hans Foundation Community, community-level yoga sessions were organised for people from different walks of life. Officials and volunteers of the Sea View Seva Trust were guided through yoga practices aimed at stress management and improved work efficiency. At the Gurukul Doon Academy, students and distinguished members of society were educated about the significance and benefits of yoga.

Addressing the media, Yoga Guru Krishna Avatar shared the deeper philosophy of yoga in simple and practical terms. He said, “We must move beyond the misconception that yoga is limited to exercises performed on a mat. Yoga should be integrated into every moment of our daily lives. Whether we are sitting, standing, sleeping, or awake, our thoughts should remain mindful. Mindful eating, along with cultivating compassion, love, and a sense of universal well-being in our hearts, is the essence of true yoga. Only when we make ourselves yogic in thought and action can we build a healthy, aware, and prosperous society. Through yoga, we can achieve excellence in physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.”

Referring to the visionary goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a “Developed India” by 2047, he stated that this objective can be achieved by taking yoga to every citizen of the country. He emphasised that yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s Sanatan culture and revered sage tradition. Rather than celebrating yoga on a single day, it should become an integral part of everyday life. According to him, the key to success lies in embracing yoga, maintaining good health, and continuously progressing on the path of personal and national development.
