Mussoorie, 24 Jun: Mussoorie has once again become a hub of cinematic activity. Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has arrived in the town to shoot for his upcoming film. Upon learning of the actor’s presence, a large crowd of locals and tourists gathered to catch a glimpse of him. Fans thronged the shooting location throughout the day, eager to see their favourite star.
Hashmi is currently filming key scenes at various picturesque locations in and around Mussoorie. While special security arrangements have been made for the shoot, the actor also delighted fans by acknowledging and greeting them.
The Uttarakhand government has long been working to transform the state into a major film shooting hub in the country. To this end, the government has introduced significant changes and concessions in its film policy. The process for obtaining shooting permits has been streamlined, clearances from various departments have been simplified, and numerous incentives are being offered to attract filmmakers. Thanks to the government’s new film policy, there has been a steady rise in the shooting of films, web series, music videos, and advertisements in Uttarakhand over the past few years. Areas such as Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital, Tehri, Auli and Chamoli are becoming preferred locations for filmmakers. Observers note that the increase in film shoots is providing a boost to the state’s tourism industry, creating new employment opportunities for those involved in the hotel business, transport, local guiding, photography, and other tourism-related activities.
Local business owners in Mussoorie are also enthusiastic about Emraan Hashmi’s shoot. Residents say that the arrival of major film stars and production units gives Mussoorie renewed recognition on both national and international stages. Meanwhile, photos and videos of the actor from the shoot are going viral rapidly on social media.
