CM approves development works, solar projects worth Rs 42 crores

Dehradun, 25 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has granted financial and administrative approval for a total expenditure of Rs 42 crores for various development schemes, construction works, disaster relief measures and implementation of important public announcements across different districts of the state. The allocations are related to works of road construction, beautification works, temple infrastructure, disaster relief support and renewable energy projects.

In Pithoragarh district, Rs 85 lakhs have been sanctioned for the beautification and boundary wall construction of Hayon Guru Dev and Gaireng temples in Gram Sabha Baun under Dharchula constituency, while an amount of Rs 50.08 lakhs has been approved for beautification of the fair site at Kulantheshwar Mahadev in Salt constituency. In Haridwar district, an amount of Rs 16.49 lakhs has been sanctioned for construction of a boundary wall at the cremation ground in Mewad Nagad under Piran Kaliyar constituency.

For disaster‑affected families in Dehradun district, an amount of Rs 3.36 lakhs has been approved from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide monthly rent assistance of Rs 4,000 for six months to 14 families of Majhada/Karligad who were displaced due to natural calamity. In Udham Singh Nagar district, Rs 85.49 lakhs have been sanctioned for reconstruction of the road from Nagla, Lalpur Motor Road to Inder Pur (Ambedkar Colony) in Kichha constituency through premix carpeting.

A major allocation has been made for renewable energy projects. An amount of Rs 35.24 crores has been sanctioned for installation of grid‑connected solar power plants of 5.5 MW capacity on government buildings, with Rs 14.10 crores released as the first instalment. Additionally, Rs 38 crores have been sanctioned for installation of solar street lights and solar high mast systems at public places in various districts, with Rs 15.20 crores released as the first instalment. Under UREDA, an amount of Rs 6.76 crores has been sanctioned for installation of solar water heater systems on government buildings, with Rs 2.70 crores released as the first instalment.

Further, an amount of Rs 3.28 crore has been sanctioned for construction of external roads and other facilities at the Adi Kailash temple in Dharchula block of Pithoragarh district. In Champawat constituency, an amount of Rs 4.38 crores has been approved for construction of 10 km internal roads each in rural areas of Tanakpur and Banbasa.
