SC Judge Sanjeev Sachdeva visits Mussoorie; shares childhood memories

Mussoorie, 30 Jun: Supreme Court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, who here today for a private visit, was accorded a warm welcome by local advocates and judicial officers. Sharing childhood memories associated with Mussoorie, Justice Sachdeva remarked that his relationship with the city goes beyond that of a mere tourist; it is a deep emotional bond. He mentioned that he has been visiting Mussoorie since childhood. His father, a senior advocate at the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court, would often bring him to the town. The moments spent here remain fresh in his memory, and every visit reminds him of those golden days.

Justice Sachdeva also shared experiences from his legal career. He recounted practicing law for a long period at the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court before being appointed as a judge of the Delhi High Court. Subsequently, he served as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and is currently serving as a Justice of the Supreme Court, the nation’s apex judicial institution. During his visit, Justice Sachdeva was also paid a courtesy call by Civil Judge (Junior Division) Manoj Rana.

Advocates from the Mussoorie Bar Association welcomed him with a bouquet and engaged in a cordial discussion on various matters related to the judiciary. Members of the Bar Association expressed that the visit of a Supreme Court Justice to Mussoorie was a matter of pride for the town. His experience, simplicity, and inspiring personality infused new energy and provided guidance to the advocates present, especially the younger lawyers. A large number of advocates, including Ranveer Singh, Manoj Saili, Abhijay Panwar, Aryan Dev Uniyal, Sandhya, Preeta, Beenu, Abhilasha, and Saurav, attended the welcome ceremony.
