Dehradun, 12 Jul: Rotary Club Doon Shivalik Hills formally installed its newly elected President, Surendra Petwal, along with the new executive team, at a ceremony held, here, on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, President Surendra Petwal and Club Secretary Rakesh Gupta unveiled the club’s action plan for the Rotary year. They announced that the club will undertake a special campaign to make HPV vaccination accessible to underprivileged communities. The club will also organise Artificial Intelligence (AI) awareness and learning programmes for children and launch an extensive tree plantation drive as part of its environmental initiatives.
The Chief Guest, Dr Rita Kalra, congratulated President Surendra Petwal and his team and conveyed her best wishes for a successful year of community service.
Dr Jagriti Nawani highlighted that the club commenced its new Rotary year on 1 July by observing Annapurna Diwas and Doctors’ Day, during which a havan was performed and doctors from the region were felicitated for their invaluable contribution to society.
Assistant Governor Hemant Kochar appreciated the new leadership for its commitment to humanitarian service and assured the club of his full support in carrying out public welfare initiatives throughout the year.
Club Secretary Rakesh Gupta expressed gratitude to all the guests for their presence and appealed to members to continue extending their wholehearted support to Rotary’s service projects. The programme was gracefully compered by Rotarian Kavita Tandon.
Among those present were senior Rotarians Dr BK Oli, Dr Jayant Navani, Ankit Agrawal, Rasik Bhatia, Namita Mamgain, Vimaljeet, Aastha Kaushik,Vikas Agrawal, Puneet Tandon, Anil Dhasmana, along with several Presidents from other Rotary Clubs.
