Kotdwar, 15 Jul: Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Speaker and Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has welcomed another major development for the Kotdwar Assembly constituency, announcing that the state government has granted administrative and financial approval for the construction of a modern indoor stadium in the Bhabar region under Chief Minister’s Announcement No. 248/2024.
She said that, according to the government order, approximately Rs 7.86 crore has been sanctioned for the project. The construction will be executed by the Uttarakhand Drinking Water Resources and Construction Development Corporation (Sports Unit), Dehradun. With the government’s approval, the project is now set to move forward.
Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said the proposed indoor stadium would be a significant milestone for the youth and sports enthusiasts of the Bhabar region. Once completed, it will strengthen sports infrastructure in the area and provide athletes with modern training and sporting facilities.
She added that the state government is continuously working towards the holistic development of young people while expanding essential infrastructure across the state. Along with improvements in education, healthcare, roads, drinking water, and other public services, special emphasis is also being placed on enhancing sports facilities in the Kotdwar Assembly constituency.
Expressing her gratitude, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan thanked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for approving the project, saying that under his leadership, development initiatives across Uttarakhand have gained fresh momentum. She noted that with the Chief Minister’s continued support, the Kotdwar Assembly constituency has been consistently receiving development projects aimed at public welfare.
She expressed confidence that the construction of the indoor stadium would create better opportunities for local youth and provide a new boost to sporting activities in the Kotdwar Assembly constituency. She also thanked the state government and the concerned departments for granting approval to the project.
