Dehradun, 16 Jul:  Health Minister Subodh Uniyal inaugurated a high‑end colour Doppler ultrasound machine at the Community Health Centre, Raipur, today. The facility has been established with the support of Swami Vivekananda Foundation and ONGC CSR funding. This move aims to provide modern and accessible healthcare services to the public. Expressing gratitude to both organisations for their contribution, the minister said the state government is committed to ensuring that citizens receive advanced and specialist healthcare at their nearest centres.

He stated that the new machine will benefit thousands of residents in the region by offering high‑quality diagnostic services locally, saving them the time and expense of travelling to larger hospitals. The equipment will be particularly useful for pregnancy‑related examinations as well as precise testing of various internal ailments. He emphasised that strict compliance with the provisions of the PC‑PNDT Act will be ensured and that the government maintains a zero‑tolerance policy against illegal practices such as foetal sex determination.

On this occasion, local MLA Umesh Sharma Kau reminded that Raipur CHC serves not only the surrounding population but also border areas of Tehri, with more than 500 OPD cases daily. He urged the minister to upgrade the hospital to a 50‑bed facility to extend better healthcare to a larger number of people. Public representatives and officials present described the initiative as a crucial step in strengthening healthcare services in the region and expressed confidence that citizens would benefit from faster and more specialised diagnostic facilities.

Among those present on the occasion were Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, Tehri MP Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, CDO Abhinav Shah, ONGC representative Neeraj Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Dr Manoj Sharma, Raipur CHC in‑charge Dr Indu Pal, along with health department officials, doctors and other dignitaries.
