Dehradun, 21 Jul: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran, along with a delegation, met Deepak Khanduri, Director (Infrastructure) of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council and Nodal Officer for the Ropeway Project, to discuss the proposed safety audit of the Purkul–Mussoorie Ropeway Project.
Jugran informed the Director that about two weeks ago he had submitted a request to Tourism Secretary Dheeraj Garbyal seeking a safety audit of the project. Following the request, the Tourism Secretary directed the Chief Executive Officer of the concerned agency to initiate the audit process. Subsequently, Director (Infrastructure) Deepak Khanduri issued written instructions to BRIDCUL to carry out the necessary action.
During the meeting, Khanduri informed the delegation that although the ropeway is being executed by one of the world’s leading companies in the field, orders for a safety audit have been issued in compliance with the directions of the State Government.
The proposed Purkul–Mussoorie Ropeway will be approximately 5.5 kilometres long and will be supported by 26 pillars.
The delegation also included Dr Deepak Joshi and Ravindra Singh Gusain.
