DEHRADUN, 25 Jul: BJP in Uttarakhand on Saturday described the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the highest moral decision taken in the interest of students and the nation. State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt expressed confidence that the clouds of conspiracy, confusion and negativity surrounding the examination process will now be dispelled. Appealing to the agitating students not to be misled, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains firmly committed to the bright future of the youth and will never compromise on their welfare. Addressing the media at the party headquarters here on Saturday, Bhatt said that Dharmendra Pradhan’s entire social and political life has been marked by impartiality, integrity and diligence. He noted that falsehoods, rumours and attempts to provoke students had vitiated the atmosphere around the NEET examination, and in order to put a full stop to such negativity in the interest of students and the nation, Pradhan resigned with the spirit of placing the country first. Bhatt emphasised that this resignation, grounded in moral responsibility, will help remove the atmosphere of conspiracy and negativity being spread among students. He added that Pradhan himself had stated that for him the nation comes first, and that his decision was taken keeping in mind the prevailing environment across the country.
Bhatt alleged that the anti‑national and Opposition political forces were behind the agitation and that they were misleading students, even though the re‑examination results of NEET have already been declared. He said the government is working on a permanent solution to the problems of cheating and paper leaks, and the resignation has been taken on moral grounds in the interest of the nation and the people. He underlined that this decision sends a positive message not only to those protesting but also to students at home who were not directly involved. He reiterated that the Modi government always acts in accordance with public sentiment and does not hesitate to take major and tough decisions when attempts are made to mislead the people.
Bhatt appealed to all the students not to worry or be misled, assuring them that with Prime Minister Modi as their guardian they need not fear for their future. He pointed out that the government has already strengthened the law against cheating, ensured that cases will be tried in fast‑track courts, and initiated comprehensive reforms in the National Testing Agency. He said compensation has been provided to families affected by student suicides and a guarantee of student safety has been given. He urged students to focus on preparing for examinations that will now be conducted in a fair, honest and orderly manner.
