Dehradun, 27 Jul: BJP in Uttarakhand will launch a wide-reaching ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and Tiranga Yatra campaign across Uttarakhand to instil patriotic fervour among citizens. From 14 August, the initiative will see the national flag hoisted at every home, accompanied by padyatras, tributes to martyrs and public awareness programmes linking all sections of society with the vision of a developed India by 2047. To ensure effective coordination and success of the campaign, a state-level team has been constituted.

BJP’s State media in-charge Manveer Chauhan shared that as in previous years, the campaign will run from 10 to 15 August, with the target of placing the national flag at every household between 13 and 15 August. Acting on the directions of national president Nitin Nabin and state party president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, all the MLAs MPs, ministers and the public representatives from BJP will participate with the support of party workers to ensure mass involvement. The campaign team has been formed under the convenorship of state vice-president Shailendra Bisht, with Gunjan Sukhija, Gaurav Pandey and Vipul Maindoli as co-convenors.

In his message, state president Bhatt noted that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, initiated on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has now taken the form of a mass movement of patriotism. He stressed that the campaign has strengthened the sense of respect, pride and emotional attachment towards the national flag in every Indian heart. He added that each year citizens enthusiastically participate in this national festival, and under Modi’s leadership over the past twelve years, the nation’s stature has risen remarkably across the world. He emphasised that the Tiranga Yatra symbolises the country’s ongoing journey of development, and that a strong, prosperous, secure and united India is no longer a dream but a reality under Modi’s leadership.

State general secretary Kundan Parihar said that as part of the campaign, awareness drives will be conducted to encourage hoisting of the national flag at every home, establishment and office. Youth and students will be sensitised about patriotism and constitutional duties, while the contributions of freedom fighters and nation-builders will be remembered. From 10 to 14 August, grand Tiranga Yatras will be organised in every mandal under the leadership of the youth wing, ensuring maximum public participation. Similar large-scale events will be held in each district with patriotic songs and the national anthem. Eminent citizens, retired soldiers, security personnel, celebrities, social organisations, youth groups and women’s organisations will be invited to join. Cleanliness drives will be conducted around martyr memorials and statues of great personalities, followed by floral tributes. Families of soldiers and police personnel who laid down their lives in service of the nation will be honoured at the mandal level, while senior party leaders and public representatives will visit border posts with due permission to felicitate soldiers.
