Dehradun, 9 Sep: Consumers in the Kotdwar-Bhabar area facing difficulties regarding domestic LPG refill bookings can now breathe a sigh of relief. The Government of India has taken an important decision concerning the LPG refill booking period, under which domestic LPG cylinder refills can now be booked after an interval of 25 days in Kotdwar-Bhabar as well as in all other areas.
It may be recalled that the LPG refill booking interval had previously been fixed at 45 days for rural areas and 25 days for urban areas. Amid recent rumours regarding the availability and supply of domestic LPG cylinders across the country and the state, this arrangement had created confusion and a sense of urgency among consumers regarding cylinder bookings. The situation also affected Kotdwar.
In particular, consumers in the rural areas of Kotdwar-Bhabar were facing considerable difficulties due to the 45-day booking interval. Taking serious note of the issue, Assembly Speaker and Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan continuously communicated and corresponded with the authorities concerned. She also raised the matter prominently with MP Anil Baluni, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, and the concerned officials, requesting that consumers in Kotdwar-Bhabar be provided the same 25-day LPG refill booking facility available in urban areas.
As a result of these efforts, the Government of India has now decided to reduce the LPG refill booking interval to 25 days, providing significant relief to domestic LPG consumers in Kotdwar-Bhabar and across all other areas.
Expressing her happiness over the decision, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that resolving the problems faced by the public remains her highest priority. She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MP Anil Baluni, and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for this important decision.
She said that, keeping in view the practical difficulties being faced by the people of Kotdwar-Bhabar in booking LPG refills, continuous efforts were made at various levels with the authorities. She added that the Central Government’s decision will provide major relief to ordinary consumers.
