Nitin Nabin, Dhami interact with youth in Haldwani

Haldwani, 10 Sep: On the second and last day of the two-day Uttarakhand tour of BJP President Nitin Nabin, along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he interacted with youngsters at a youth dialogue programme held in Haldwani today. During the interaction, the discussions focussed on topics like careers, employment, entrepreneurship, skill development, technology, sports and the future of Uttarakhand.
During the interaction, youngsters put several relevant questions to the BJP national president and the Chief Minister on issues related to the development of the state and the country. They also shared their own experiences regarding various government schemes and also put forward suggestions concerning employment, self-employment and the availability of better opportunities for the youth in Uttarakhand.
Addressing those present, Nitin Nabin said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the potential of the country’s youth is being given a new direction while new opportunities are also being created for them. He added that initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India, Skill India, Make in India and Khelo India have provided youngsters a platform to move ahead according to their talent, potential and skills. The youth today, he said, are not merely seeking employment but are also emerging as creators of employment and new opportunities.
Nabin asserted that the role of youngsters is increasing continuously in the era of a changing economy and rapid technological advancement. Artificial intelligence, start-ups, innovation, digital technology and entrepreneurship have opened new avenues of opportunity. He noted that the youth of Uttarakhand are endowed with talent and potential and their energy and capabilities could be linked with the development of the state to take Uttarakhand to new heights.
Nabin said that, in a hill state like Uttarakhand, it is important to expand the opportunities for employment, self-employment, tourism, skill development and entrepreneurship at the local level. The ideas, suggestions and aspirations of youngsters can play an important role in determining the future direction of the state. He also called upon the youth to turn the future challenges into opportunities and actively participate in the building of a developed India.
The BJP State President said social media is a powerful medium and youngsters should use it positively for the development of the country and society. He said 140 crore citizens would have to work together to fulfil the resolve of a developed India. Nabin also called upon the youngsters to come forward in politics and public life and contribute to nation-building. He said time management is extremely important in life and making proper use of time is essential for success.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said youth power is the biggest strength of the country. India’s large young population is providing the country with new energy, new thinking and new capabilities. With the growing use of technology and innovation, new avenues of opportunity have opened up for youngsters, he said.
Dhami said that, after assuming responsibility as Chief Minister on 4 July, 2021, his government has worked with the resolve that the youth and water of the hills should both be utilised for the benefit of Uttarakhand. In this direction, the recruitment process against vacant posts in government departments has been expedited and around 34,000 youngsters have so far been appointed to government services. Strict action has been taken against those involved in irregularities in recruitment examinations. The cheating mafia has been sent to jail and a stringent crackdown has been launched on those attempting to jeopardise the future of youngsters.
The CM said that the government is not restricting youngsters to government jobs but is also focusing on creating new opportunities in self-employment, start-ups and entrepreneurship. Opportunities are being provided to youngsters through various initiatives, including the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme, skill development programmes, homestays and the Chief Minister Udyaman Khiladi Yojana.
Dhami said Uttarakhand is also rapidly establishing a new identity in the field of sports. Sports infrastructure in the state is being expanded continuously. Lot of progress has been made towards establishing a sports university in Haldwani and a sports college for women in Lohaghat. The state’s players winning more than 100 medals in the National Games is the evidence of the growing sporting talent and changing sports environment in Uttarakhand, he said.
The CM said that the opportunities are being created for youngsters in tourism, local products, science, innovation, artificial intelligence, robotics and other emerging technology-related fields. He reminded that an Investors Summit had been organised with the objective of generating new investment and employment opportunities, while efforts are also being made to expand the industrial activities in the mountainous areas of the state.
Dhami added that the government is also providing free coaching facilities to ensure equal opportunities for youngsters preparing for competitive examinations. He said the talent, hard work and potential of Uttarakhand’s youth were the biggest strengths for building a developed Uttarakhand.
BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, MP Ajay Bhatt, public representatives, party office-bearers and a large number of youngsters were present on the occasion.
