Dehradun, 11 Sep: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced at a press conference at the Secretariat here, today, that a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign will be organised across Uttarakhand from 17 September, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, till 17 October. He said the campaign is being launched to connect citizens with the resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ and to make service, public participation, dialogue and innovation the driving forces behind state-level development efforts.
Dhami said 11 major programmes have been proposed under the campaign in Uttarakhand, aligned with 12 programmes outlined at the national level. Students, youth, women, beneficiaries, parents, public representatives, social organisations and citizens from all sections of society will be encouraged to participate actively. The campaign will also showcase work undertaken in the state, communicate key decisions taken by the state government and highlight real changes brought about in people’s lives through Central and state schemes, along with experiences and stories of beneficiaries.
The CM said the campaign will also focus on the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his long public life, including his tenure as Prime Minister and Chief Minister. He added that the country would witness this historic journey, while beneficiary experiences would illustrate how government schemes have helped people move ahead in life.
Dhami emphasised that youth are the strength of the country and their participation would be most important in fulfilling the resolve of a developed India.
Under the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, lamps will be lit and collective programmes organised at centres associated with government schemes, gas distribution centres, ration shops, prominent religious places and along the banks of the Ganga.
Dhami said the Cabinet has decided that ministers will hold meetings related to their respective departments as part of the campaign. Under ‘Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat–Chitra Seva’, painting, essay and speech competitions based on the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and the work and achievements of the past 25 years will be organised in educational institutions across the state.
Under ‘Namo Seva–Ankahi Kahaniyan’, plays based on the achievements of the country will be staged in schools. The ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ programme will be organised at Anganwadi centres with the participation of children, parents, Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers.
Dhami said ‘Seva Ki Kahaniyan’ will highlight the real changes brought about in the lives of citizens through Central and state government schemes. Under ‘Seva: Mera Yogdan’, citizens will be encouraged to participate in tree plantation, cleanliness drives, teaching activities and other socially useful service initiatives.
The CM said under ‘Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang’, the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ will be depicted through rangoli. Under ‘Sushasan Seva Samvad’, extensive dialogue will be held with public representatives on the themes of service and good governance. The campaign will also include interaction with youth and the general public. Dhami said ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar’ programmes will be organised in every district under the supervision of the ministers in charge of the respective districts. Photographs, videos, beneficiaries’ experiences and stories of positive change emerging from the various programmes will also be widely disseminated through the media.
Dhami said the core objective of the Seva Sankalp campaign is not merely to showcase government schemes and achievements but to make citizens active participants in the resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ through service, dialogue, innovation and public participation.
Dhami claimed that his government has consistently given priority to the youth and had responded to their concerns. Referring to medical students, he said the government had listened to their concerns and increased their stipend. On madrassas, he said action is not aimed at targeting any particular community or group but is intended to ensure that all the children received good education.
Dhami also conceded that land-related frauds are a major challenge in the state and officials have been directed to take necessary action in this regard. He said the Seva Sankalp campaign would be celebrated extensively in every district, with the ministers in charge of the respective districts participating in the programmes.
Cabinet ministers Khajan Das and Ram Singh Kaira and Director General, Information, Banshidhar Tiwari were also present on the occasion.
