Haridwar, 17 Sep: Sanskrit Education Secretary Deepak Kumar Gairola inaugurated the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan with a Vedic havan at the ancient yajna shala of Rishikul Vidyapeeth Brahmacharyashram Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya here today. On the occasion of the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, prayers were also held for his long life and good health. At the historic yajna shala, the state’s Secretary for Sanskrit Education, Census and Programme Implementation formally launched the campaign. Addressing the gathering, he stated that the Prime Minister’s birthday inspires karmayoga and that his service to the nation remains exemplary. He said the PM’s dedication, commitment, reverence and prioritisation of the implementation of welfare schemes for the citizens serve as a reminder of duty for every citizen.
Addressing the Sanskrit students on this occasion, Gairola urged them not to harbour any sense of inferiority and assured them that the government is fully committed to their advancement and that continuous efforts are being made to resolve every issue.
Special guest Vinay Vidyalankar, secretary at Uttarakhand Sanskrit Sansthan, spoke on the importance of the Vedas and the ancient methodologies of yajna. Vidyalankar also claimed that PM Modi is advancing the vision of a developed India grounded in the Indian knowledge tradition and the development model of ancient India. He said India has left an indelible mark on the world stage and credited Modi’s hard work for this achievement. Another special guest, Rajiv Gupta, a noted astrologer from Russia, said that India is now viewed with respect not only at home but across the world, and affirmed that today’s India is a stronger India in which the contribution of Sanskrit-speaking people will be crucial.
On the occasion, guests were felicitated by Rishikul Vidyapeeth secretary and City Magistrate Harigiri with mementoes and angavastra. The programme was chaired by Rishikul Vidyapeeth Principal Baldev Prasad Chamoli and conducted by Naveen Chandra Pant. Those present on this occasion included Sanskrit Education Deputy Director Vajashrava Arya, Chudamani Pargai, Bhaskar Sharma, Mahesh Bahuguna, Ramesh Joshi, Uma Joshi, Champa Joshi, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Deepak Nagar, Amit Sharma, Sohan Sharma and others.
