Dehradun, 23 Sep: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has accorded administrative and financial sanctions of over Rs 306 crores for a wide range of development projects in Uttarakhand, covering road infrastructure, tourism facilities, flood protection, temple beautification and other public amenities. Under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund, nine projects sanctioned by the Government of India have been accorded approval amounting to Rs 288.41 crores, with the release of the first instalment of Rs 115.36 crores representing 40 per cent of the sanctioned amount. In Badrinath Dham, revised financial sanction has been granted for the River Front Development project, with Rs 6 crores approved from the state government’s tourism infrastructure head during the current financial year.
For flood protection works during the monsoon period, reconstruction of damaged assets and protective structures in Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Pauri Garhwal districts, six schemes have been sanctioned with a combined allocation of Rs 9.30 crores. In Almora district’s Salt constituency, an amount of Rs 50 lakhs has been approved for the beautification of the Shaktipith Bhaunadevi temple under a chief ministerial announcement. In Pithoragarh district’s Didihat constituency, an amount of Rs 72.63 lakhs has been sanctioned for the construction of a CC road from Tapri Ghat to Golmanu Primary School in Kunia Gram Sabha. In Almora district’s Jageshwar constituency, an amount of Rs 99.39 lakhs has been approved for the beautification of Ghatika temple at Chalnichina under a chief ministerial announcement.
Additionally, an amount of Rs 30.30 lakhs has been sanctioned for the installation of a lift at the Labour Bhawan complex in Haldwani. The Chief Minister stated that the government is consistently working towards strengthening road infrastructure, promoting tourism, enhancing flood safety measures, preserving religious sites and expanding public facilities. He emphasised that these projects will not only improve amenities for local residents but also provide fresh impetus to regional development and tourism in the state.
