 MoU signed between Pantnagar University & Roshni Agri Information

Pantnagar,23 Sep: Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, and Roshni Agri Information Private Limited, Mohali have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote digital innovation and advanced technologies in the agricultural sector. The partnership is expected to provide fresh impetus to smart and technology-driven farming, while strengthening agricultural research, innovation, training and skill development.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Dr Shivendra Kumar Kashyap by Dr SK Verma, Director, Research, on behalf of the University and Rajiv Tomar, Managing Director, Roshni Agri Information Private Limited on behalf of the company.

Yash Joshi, Project Lead, Roshni Agri Information Private Limited, Mohali; Dr PK Singh, Joint Director Research; Dr RP Singh, Chief General Manager, University Farm; Dr JP Jaiswal, Director Communication; and Joint Directors and Associate Directors of various Research Units of the university were also present on the occasion.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Kashyap said that the challenges facing agriculture today can be addressed through effective integration of modern technologies and research. The University is committed to connecting scientific research and technological innovations with the actual needs of farmers. He said that collaboration with industry would accelerate the development of new agricultural technologies and facilitate their practical application in the field.

Under the MoU, the two institutions will jointly work in areas including digital agriculture, development and testing of new agricultural technologies, agricultural entrepreneurship, training and skill development. The collaboration will focus on advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, satellite remote sensing, soil and crop analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), precision agriculture, irrigation management, climate-smart farming, automation, robotics and digital advisory systems.
