Dehradun, 24 Sep: Many of the country’s most renowned personalities are arriving in Dehradun on 26 and 27 September for ‘The Literary Table’ event. This is a writer-reader platform of the Arogya Wellbeing Trust. It is being held at Fairfield by Marriott, Dehradun.
Dr Aloka Das Gupta Niyogi, Director of The Literary Table Literature Arts Festival, stated today that the primary objective of this literature and arts festival is to boost the courage and confidence of writers and promises two days of engaging sessions with some of the country’s most respected literary and intellectual figures.
Dr Niyogi also stated that ONGC and DPS Bhagalpur, along with several supporting institutions and entrepreneurs, are literary partners.
The festival will begin with an opening ceremony on September 26th at 1 p.m. There will be eight sessions on the first day.
The eminent guests attending the festival will have the opportunity to listen to some of the country’s most renowned and respected authors and personalities, including Bachi Karkaria, author and columnist for The Times of India; Devdutt Patnaik, mythologist; Chandrachud Ghosh, author, journalist and researcher on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose; Anuj Dhar, author, columnist and researcher; Ashok Kumar, former DGP, EPS; Dr Shalini Malik, author and pathologist; Ajitabh M Bose, renowned author and publisher; Robin Roy, documentary filmmaker for Discovery Channel; Tarun Maharshi, bestselling author; Samridhi Gulati, bestselling author and psychologist from Jammu; Anita Sharma, bestselling and award-winning author; Shubhobrat Majumdar, debut author; Mona Verma, bestselling author; and Dr Aloka Dasgupta Niyogi, award-winning author and freelance writer. Speaking with reporters, he also revealed that the festival will have renowned authors as its chief guests. Prem Prakash Animesh, Regional Director, RBI Jharkhand, will be present.
Highlights of the event include Waternamah: Book Discussion, edited by Bachi Karkaria and Devdutt Patnaik, the release of the third edition of The Literary Table’s souvenir, and a screening of Robin Roy’s documentary, Embers of Hope, narrated by Zeenat Aman and anchored by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University. Various sessions at the Literature and Arts Festival will be moderated by a panel of eminent personalities, including Pooja Khanna, Dr Ruby Gupta, Major General Anand Rawat, Mona Verma, Dr Aloka Dasgupta Niyogi, Jasleen Kaur, Juhi Khanna, Kriti Ahlawat, Jayshree Banerjee, Gunjan Kawatra Baluja, and others. Festival MC Manu Ahuja will also be present.
The Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony on September 26 will be Prem Ranjan Animesh, renowned author and Regional Director, RBI, Jharkhand, and Guests of Honour will be Dr S Farooq of Himalaya Wellness, Dr Gaurav Luthra of Drishti Eye Hospital, Rajesh Srivastava, Chairman, DPS, Bhagalpur, Nebula Bagchi, Executive Director, ONGC, RS Narayani, Executive Director, ONGC, and other guests.

The curtain raiser published on 25th September 2026 on pg 13, ‘The Literary Table’ Festival, was published according to the press release sent to us by the organisers.
We published information mentioning certain details that were wrongly provided to us by the organisers in the press release.
Here is the correction:
The credit for the series Embers of Hope, the Fight for our Future was wrongly ascribed to Prof Bhaskar Vira. The series has been directed by Robin Roy and produced by the Mobius Foundation in partnership with Warner Bros, for Discovery. The 10-part series has been narrated by Zeenat Aman and anchored by Prof Bhaskar Vira (Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge).
Also, we request the people/organisation to send us the press release in English with correct spelling of names, designations, etc.
