Education Minister orders action on ‘transfer’ of deceased teacher

Dehradun, 14 Jul: State Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has taken strict cognisance of the transfer order issued to a deceased teacher of the Department of Primary Education in Rudraprayag district. Following publication of the news in social media and newspapers, Dr Rawat directed the Director General of School Education to constitute a committee in the matter and conduct an immediate inquiry. Considering this matter as gross negligence, strict action has been ordered against the erring officials.

In a statement issued to the media, Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has stated that the case under the Annual Transfers for 2022-23 in Rudraprayag district has come to light. Prima facie there appears to be gross negligence by the departmental officers. In view of the seriousness of the matter, Director General, School Education, Banshidhar Tiwari has been directed to immediately constitute a committee and conduct an inquiry within three days, as well as take strict action against the negligent officials. He said that the transfer after four years of a teacher’s death indicates all is not right.

Dr Rawat said that the matter would be seriously investigated and strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the investigation.
