Dehradun, 10 Oct: Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh (MP) Shivraj Singh Chouhan today reached Dehradun and Rishikesh on a one day tour. This tour comes after the state assembly elections have been announced in MP and several other states by the Election Commission of India. State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal received the Chouhan and welcomed him on behalf of the state government at Jolly Grant Airport, here, today.

During the interaction between the two leaders, CM Chouhan expressed his appreciation of the important steps taken in Uttarakhand, such as enacting the country’s most powerful anti-copying law, implementing women’s reservation in government jobs, the decision to implement the Uniform Civil Code, and enacting a strong anti- conversion law. Chouhan was also appreciative of the “strict stand” of the state government against corruption.

The MP Chief Minister also observed that the determination and the efforts being made to include a small hill state like Uttarakhand amongst the leading states of the country by 2025 is the mark of true governance. He also stated that organising the Investors’ Summit and signing MoUs worth about Rs 39,000 crores, so far, with industrialists not only from the country but also abroad is an indication of far-reaching thinking on part of the government for the development of the state.

Chouhan later left for Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh to seek the blessings of Swami Chidanand Saraswati before the polls.
