Kotdwar, 29 Nov: The Agniveer Recruitment Rally conducted at Kotdwara culminated on 28 November. A total of 2544 candidates from all seven districts of Garhwal (Chamoli- 360, Haridwar – 218, Rudraprayag- 253, Tehri – 283, Uttarkashi – 164, Dehradun- 500, Pauri – 766) appeared in tests for selection to different trades of the Indian Army.  Army authorities have expressed satisfaction at the overwhelming response from the youth for the rally.

The ARO, Lansdowne, District Administration and Police worked tirelessly over the past fortnight to make this rally a big success. The coordinated efforts of all agencies have been lauded by one and all. ARO Lansdowne has congratulated all the successful candidates and has stated that the final merit list will be published soon. All candidates have been asked to be on lookout for Notification on JIA website.

The ARO has requested the Uttarakhand Education Department, Sports Federations and District Administration to expedite the verification of documents produced by candidates so that the merit list can be prepared at the earliest. They have also asked the candidates to update their mobile number and email address with ARO, Lansdowne for further communication. The authorities stated that most candidates depend on Cyber Cafés to fill their forms which results in numerous mistakes in personal and contact details.

A number of candidates are not able to access their accounts as they do not recollect the passwords created by the operator who fills the forms on behalf of the candidates. This causes a lot of inconvenience to candidates at different stages of the recruitment process. Going forward, ARO Lansdowne has stated that successful candidates must complete their online police verification by 28 February 2024 as it will be a mandatory document before they are dispatched to allocated regimental centres after figuring in the merit list. Also, all those candidates who were not able to produce original documents during the Rally have been asked to report to ARO Lansdowne with those documents on 7 December, 2023.
