SIDA authorised to approve maps for industries

Dehradun, 22 Dec: Several important decisions were taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held at the Secretariat here today. Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu briefed the media about the cabinet decisions. The progress in respect of the  draft of Uniform Civil Code was kept before the Cabinet. The cabinet was also briefed about the progress in respect of the grounding of the proposals and MoUs signed during the recently concluded Global Investors Summit. It was informed that the departments concerned are working on the instructions given by CM Dhami on the grounding of the MOU of the investment proposal by 15th February. CM will now review it. The government has laid emphasis on grounding of maximum proposals at the earliest.
Some other decisions taken today included  unfreezing 195 posts of dependents of deceased in the State Transport Corporation. Permissible distance for setting up of Petrol Pumps from the residential drain was decreased to 5 meters instead of the existing 50 metres The petrol pumps can also be set up at a distance of 150 metres from the river.
The cabinet approved changes in the Employee Group Insurance Scheme. The premium has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 350, Rs 200 to Rs 700, Rs 400 to Rs 1400. Insurance coverage has also been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh and from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
The cabinet also approved a proposal for recruitment for Group C posts which will be carried out by State Public Service Commission. The cabinet also approved a proposal that the State Industrial Development Authority (SIDA) will approve the maps and plans for industries instead of the urban development authorities as is the case in the present. The cabinet also approves some changes in CM’s Mahalaxmi Yojana. Under Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Yojana, earlier kits were given only for the birth of two girl children. Now the kit will be given irrespective of the fact whether it is a boy or a girl. The cabinet also approved that Antyodaya and BPL card holders will get one kg salt every month at the rate of Rs 8 per kg. The cabinet approved a proposal for outsourced recruitment in veterinary hospital in Transport Nagar, Dehradun. The government will provide one mobile van for animals in every block of Uttarakhand. The Veterinary Hospitals will be permitted to l keep 75 percent of the user charges charged from owners of the animals for treatment to meet their expenses while they will have to deposit the remaining 25 percent with the treasury.
The cabinet also approved a proposal that those doing PG in medical college have to fill a bond to serve with the government hospitals and medical colleges for at least 2 years. This decision has been taken in view of the shortage of senior residents in medical colleges. At present the requirement was to serve only one year in government medical colleges for PG students.
