Dehradun, 25 Jul: Uttarakhand Agriculture, Rural Development and Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi met Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi, today.
During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister placed many issues of the state before the Union Minister. Joshi sought construction of the Bhiladu Sports Ground and Kandoli Sports Ground in Mussoorie. The minister said that it has been reported many times that the headquarters of ONGC is being shifted from Dehradun to elsewhere, which would cause a crisis of important problems like employment among the local people. The minister requested that the headquarters of ONGC be retained in Dehradun. Apart from this, the Cabinet Minister informed that security personnel in Dehradun’s ONGC were recruited through UPNL, but the job has been given to other private security agencies, which has created a crisis of employment for ex-servicemen. The cabinet minister requested that recruitment should be done from UPNL as before. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave a positive assurance and said that talks will be held at high level to keep security personnel from UPNL in ONGC.
