Police arrest accused who sold tea mixed with spit

Mussoorie, 9 Oct: Police have arrested two persons accused of mixing spit in tea and selling it to people.

According to Mussoorie Police, Himanshu Bishnoi, son of Sanjay Bishnoi, resident of House No. 310, Upper Nehru Village, Police Station Raipur, Dehradun, showed a video at the Kotwali Mussoorie which he had made at Library Chowk a few days ago while visiting Mussoorie. It showed two youths are selling tea, Maggi and other items from a cart near Library Chowk. One of them is seen repeatedly spitting in the tea pot before making tea.

The Police took immediate action and registered a case against both the youths under sections 196 (1) (B), 274, 299, 351, 352. Police said that both the accused have not only played with the health of the people with their act but also tried to hurt their religious sentiments.

In view of the seriousness of the incident, the SSP Dehradun formed a team under the leadership of Mussoorie Police Station Incharge to arrest both the accused. The team collected information about the accused, Naushad, son of Sher Ali, and Hasan Ali, son of Sher Ali, who are originally from Muzaffarnagar district. Both the accused were absconding from Mussoorie after the incident. The police team tracked them down and arrested them from near Asharodi. Both are being questioned in detail about the incident. Police said that they will be presented before the court tomorrow.
