DEHRADUN, 19 Oct: Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBS University), Balawala, hosted a captivating musical program under the aegis of SPIC MACAY on Friday. The event featured the renowned Indian musician, Padma Shri awardee Dr Bharti Bandhu, known for his soulful Kabir bhajans.
Dr Bharti Bandhu was accompanied by a talented ensemble of musicians, including Indu Bhushan Naik, Bhushan Bharti, CV Vachaspati Bharti (Co-Singer), Khomeshwar Sahu (on Tabla), V Pawas Bharti (on Dholak), and Dharmendra Chakradhari (on Keyz). The concert was a mesmerizing blend of traditional Indian music, leaving the audience spellbound.
The program was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) J Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SBS University, who welcomed Dr Bharti Bandhu and his team and highlighted the importance of SPIC MACAY in promoting Indian classical music and culture.
Dr Bandhu’s captivating rendition of a mesmerizing composition set the tone for the evening. The other musicians’ exceptional talent and synchronization with the lead vocalist further enriched the concert experience.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr Deepak Sahni (Registrar), Prof Maneesh Arora (Dean of Student Welfare), Prof (Dr) Veerma Ram (Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Technology), Urmi Chaurasia (Controller of Examination), Dr Reena Rani (HOD, Department of Physiotherapy), Capt Nalini Mehrishi (Warden), Incharges, and other faculty members.
The program was coordinated by Dr Maitri Chaturvedi (Convener- Cultural & Music Club), Anoop Singh Negi (Co-Convener), Durga Uniyal, and Naveen Singh. The stage was handled by Rashi Tamta and Shwetanshu Chauhan (Student Secretaries).
