Dehradun, 19 Oct: Experts in an International Conference organized on Food Processing discussed about the strategies of food security. On this occasion, Pooja Bhatnagar of Graphic Era and Pratiksha of Amity University, Punjab bagged first position in research paper presentation competition.
In this International Conference organized at Graphic Era Deemed University, representatives of Japan, Australia and Russia participated. Experts suggested biomass hydrogenation, reducing Co2 emission, checking quantity of agrochemicals in crops, promoting eco friendly and energy efficient technologies and integration of circular economy model for reducing food wastage.
18 papers and 54 posters were presented in the International Conference. Today, in the paper presentation category Harsh Dadhaneeya from National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Haryana won second prize and Terin James from Graphic Era won the third prize. In the poster presentation, participants won awards for different themed categories. In Technological Advancements in Food Processing themed category, Manisha Joshi and Ipsheta Bose from Shoolini University, Solan won first and second position respectively. Akansha Sharma from Graphic Era won third position in the same category.
In the Health, Nutrition and Policy for Future Food Security themed category, Ankit Kohli from HNB Garhwal University won first prize. Richa Bhtoya from Graphic Era won second and Endalkochew Eakeziaw from Shoolini University won third prize. In the Innovation in Sustainability and Resilient food system themed category Akansha Dalal from CSIR- Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru was awarded third prize. Kabari Krishna Bohra from Graphic Era won second prize and Alice Singh from NIFTEM won the third prize.
The International Conference was organized by Department of Food Science and Technology. Vice Chancellor Dr Narpinder Singh, HoD and Convener Dr Vinod Kumar, Prof Katsuyoshi Nishinari from Osaka City University, Japan, Dr Rekha S Singhal from ICT, Mumbai, Advisor of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change, New Delhi Prof IP Pandey, Co- Convener Dr Sanjay Kumar, Organizing Secretary Dr Bindu Naik, Dr Arun Kumar Gupta, Bhawna Bisht, Joint Secretary Dr Ankita Dobhal, Dr Ravneet Kaur, faculty members, PhD scholars and students were present in the conference.
