Haridwar, 27 Nov: Following the strict orders of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, senior officers are now visiting offices to ensure employees are arriving on time. Haridwar District Magistrate (DM) Karmendra Singh today conducted a surprise inspection at Haridwar Nagar Nigam and found that 73 employees had not arrived on time.

Singh unexpectedly arrived at the Haridwar Municipal Corporation office at around 10:10 a.m. During this visit, 73 personnel were found absent. The DM waited for some time but ultimately issued orders to withhold their salaries. Additionally, he also has sought written clarification from all absent officers and employees regarding their absence from office during office hours.

While inspecting the desk related to the Right to Information, the DM directed that the register be updated and all entries recorded correctly. He also instructed various departments to keep their documents safe and protected.

The DM also directed all departments to closely monitor the working of field personnel and emphasised upon the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the city. He mandated that the routine work of the Municipal Corporation should not be disrupted under any circumstances.

He further instructed all the district level officers and employees to arrive in office on time and not be absent from the office without approved leave. He stated that officers and employees must reach the office at the prescribed time before the public arrives.

The DM announced that surprise inspections will be conducted periodically in the future to ensure the presence of all officers and employees in the office. Action will be taken as per rules against those found absent.
