Speaker organises Jungle Safari for youth from Kotdwar

Kotdwar, 4 Dec: The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and local MLA, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, organised a special jungle safari today in the renowned Jim Corbett National Park’s Pakhro Range for local youth from Kotdwar. The purpose of this safari was to raise awareness about the region’s biodiversity and environmental heritage, while also informing the public about the exciting tourism opportunities, such as jungle safaris, available in Kotdwar.

The Speaker informed the youth that nearly 75% of the Jim Corbett National Park is located in Pauri Garhwal, home to rare species of wildlife and birds. She said, “Kotdwar is just a four-hour drive from Delhi-NCR, making it a convenient and attractive tourist destination for visitors.”

During the safari, Ritu Khanduri shared information about tigers, leopards, elephants, bears, and other wildlife. The children not only learned about these animals and birds but also felt a unique connection with nature. Their faces reflected excitement and curiosity. She also explained that the Pakhro Range in Kotdwar is home to wild animals like elephants, tigers, bears, deer, leopards, and several rare species of birds. Kotdwar is an excellent location for tourists seeking a jungle safari experience.

On this occasion, the children said, “This jungle safari experience was unforgettable and thrilling. We understood the importance of wildlife and environmental conservation up close for the first time. We are proud to be part of such a priceless heritage of Kotdwar.” The students also pledged to spread awareness about jungle safaris from Kotdwar and its potential, helping to promote tourism and employment opportunities.

Several youth, including Rakshit Singhal, Nitin Diwakar, Isha, Anjali Bisht, Prerna Rawat, Sandeep, Sakshi Negi, and Shikha Gaur, participated in this special safari.
