Impart values to sons also, not just daughters: Speaker Bhushan

Uttarkashi, 8 Dec: The Meritorious Student Award Ceremony held at Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College in Shakti Puram, Uttarkashi, was inaugurated by the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The event was also graced by Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhai and several other dignitaries.

In her address, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan congratulated the principal and teachers of the school, stating, “The discipline and talent displayed by the students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir are commendable. These children not only presented beautiful performances in singing and dancing but also demonstrated self-confidence and values, proving that the school is effectively blending education with culture.”

She praised the entire Saraswati Vidya Mandir group of schools for playing a crucial role not only in academic excellence but also in fostering cultural and moral values. She also shared an important message with all teachers and the parents of students, saying, “If we want to improve society, it’s time to impart values not only to our daughters but also to our sons. Otherwise, no matter how many ‘Nirbhaya Acts’ we create, they will have little impact.”

In his address, MLA Sanjay Dobhal also appreciated the students’ performances, mentioning that although facilities in the hills are limited compared to cities, the talent of these students was immense.

During the ceremony, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan awarded the meritorious students. The school’s teachers and principal attributed the success to the hard work of the students and the support from their parents.

The event concluded with the national anthem, with everyone participating enthusiastically. This ceremony proved to be an inspiring effort toward the educational and cultural upliftment of Uttarkashi.

The key attendees at the event included Ram Sundar Nautiyal, Mehraban Singh Bisht, Rai Singh Rawat, Umed Singh Bisht, Vijay Badoni, Subhash Nautiyal, Gabbar Singh, Dhani Ram, Devi Prasad, Poonam Ramola, and Jaypal Singh, among others.
