Minister Rekha Arya boosts morale of state’s sportspersons

Rudrapur, 13 Jan: “The next time we meet, there should be a gold medal around your neck; this is our expectation from you.” This was the statement made by Sports Minister Rekha Arya when she visited the state volleyball team’s training camp in Rudrapur to boost their morale.

In addition, the Sports Minister also inspected the ongoing open trials for the handball team selection.

On a surprise visit from Haldwani, Sports Minister Rekha Arya arrived at Manoj Sarkar Stadium in Rudrapur and interacted with volleyball and handball players, gaining insights into their preparations. Minister Rekha Arya stated that the teams are fully prepared to participate in the national sports competition. Encouraging the players, she mentioned that whatever was lacking in Goa must be accomplished this time.

The Sports Minister also inspected the ongoing open trials for the handball team selection at the same stadium and revealed that experts who have previously been involved in selecting national teams were specially invited for the trials.

Additionally, the Sports Minister visited the 46th Battalion PAC in Rudrapur, where the shotgun shooting event will be held, and reviewed the ongoing construction work. She directed the authorities to complete all preparations as soon as possible.

During this visit, Deputy Sports Director Shakti Singh, Secretary of the Olympics Association DK Singh, District Sports Officer Janki Karki, and others were also present.
