Dhami attends Holi Milan hosted by Ajay Tamta in New Delhi

New Delhi, 12 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended a traditional Holi Milan ceremony at the official residence of Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta, here, today. On this occasion, while wishing everyone a happy Holi, he emphasised that the festival symbolises love, harmony, and mutual unity. Holi also strengthens cultural unity and harmony in our society.
Dhami asserted that Holi is not just a festival of colours, it also intensifies social interaction and transmits positive energy. It inspires everyone to forget mutual discrimination and bind themselves in the thread of unity. The traditional baithi and khadi Holi of Uttarakhand symbolise the state’s rich cultural heritage, promoting love and harmony.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement, Dhami said that the PM has described the third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand. The state government is moving forward on the path of development with this resolve.
Dhami announced that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He described it as a major reform towards equality and justice in society, aligning with public expectations. This historic occasion is significant not only for Uttarakhand but also for the entire country. By implementing the UCC, the state government has paid tribute to all members of the Constituent Assembly, including BR Ambedkar.

The Chief Minister stated that the UCC has ensured equal constitutional and civil rights for every citizen in the state, including women of all religions. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on behalf of the people of Uttarakhand.
Dhami also reminded the gathering about the recent land law implemented in the state and described it as a significant step towards fulfilling the long-standing demand of the people of Uttarakhand. This law aims to protect the resources, cultural heritage, and rights of the state’s residents, preventing uncontrolled land purchase and sale.
Many state and national-level dignitaries participated in the function. Guests wished each other a Happy Holi by applying gulal and enjoyed traditional music and cultural programmes. Folk songs and cultural presentations created a cheerful atmosphere, with enthusiastic participation from the guests.
Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, Leader in charge of BJP affairs in Uttarakhand, Dushyant Gautam, State BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, Uttarakhand Disaster Management Vice President Vinay Rohila, and Delhi MLA Manoj Shaukeen were also present at the event.
