New Delhi, 19 Mar: BJP’s National Co-Treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP from Uttarakhand Naresh Bansal raised the issue of infiltration into India and termed this as a critical issue for national security during Zero Hour in the House today. Drawing the government’s attention during the Zero Hour to this issue, Bansal emphasised the urgent need to take strict action against those facilitating the entry of infiltrators into India and providing them fraudulent documents. He called for the dismantling of such networks, the arrest of those involved, and the deportation of infiltrators.
Stressing on the gravity of the situation, Bansal reminded that thousands of Rohingyas and other infiltrators have entered India through secret routes, bypassing border security. These infiltrators have reportedly spread across various states, including Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, before reaching even highly sensitive regions like Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. He also pointed to their movement towards the Nepal border, where they allegedly receive support from groups like the Islamic Union Nepal and organisations such as the Popular Front of India (PFI).
While commending the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in implementing strict measures to curb infiltration, he however stressed that more needs to be done to identify safe hideouts, investigate routes used by infiltrators, and take concrete action against their facilitators. He revealed alarming details about the cost of obtaining fake documents, with election cards priced at Rs 5,000, ration cards at Rs 10,000, Aadhaar cards at Rs 25,000, and passports at Rs 1,00,000 in each case.
Bansal added that recent cases, such as the discovery of fake birth certificates in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, underscore the need for immediate action. Bansal urged the government to launch verification campaigns in schools, instruct health departments to avoid issuing birth certificates to infiltrators, and demolish illegal constructions linked to them.
Calling for a comprehensive approach, Bansal reiterated the importance of identifying infiltrators, dismantling their networks, and ensuring national security through decisive action.
