Dehradun, 8 May: Prof Kaushal Kumar formally assumed the post of Principal at DAV College, Dehradun, today. On this occasion, the Joint Secretary of the College Managing Committee, Radhika Swaroop, and General Secretary Manvendra Swaroop, congratulated Prof Kaushal Kumar and assured full cooperation and support from the management in all efforts undertaken by the new principal for the progress and betterment of the institution.
Prof Kaushal Kumar took charge from the outgoing principal, Prof Sunil Kumar, in the Principal’s Office. A large number of faculty and staff gathered to congratulate him on his new role. Among those extending their congratulations were Prof SP Joshi (Dean of Science & Vice Principal), Prof GP Dang (Dean of Commerce), Prof Devna Jindal (Dean of Arts), along with heads of all departments and other faculty members.
The newly appointed Principal of DAV College is a multifaceted personality with 36 years of experience in teaching and research. He began his career in the Commerce Department of the college in 1989. From 2012 to 2015, he served as the Chief Proctor. Prior to that, he worked as Proctor for 18 years and Deputy Proctor for 9 years. He also has experience as an Additional Controller of Examinations for 2 years and is currently a part of the examination team. Additionally, he has held key responsibilities in the Sports Committee for 9 years. Prof Kaushal Kumar has taken over as Principal while simultaneously serving as the President of the DAV College Teachers’ Association.
Beyond academics, Prof Kaushal Kumar has held significant roles at the regional and national levels. He served in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) as Metropolitan President, Department Head, and District Head, and was elected as State President of ABVP for three consecutive terms, also serving as a member of its National Executive Committee. He is the former President (for 9 years) of the Uttarakhand State Lawn Bowls Association, an Executive Member of the State Olympic Association, and currently serves as an Executive Member of the All India Lawn Bowls Association.
On the occasion of his assuming the Principal’s post, Student Union President Siddharth Agarwal, Secretary Sumit Kumar, and a large number of students and student leaders from various student organisations extended their best wishes. Office-bearers and members of the college’s non-teaching staff union also congratulated him and conveyed their good wishes.
