Dehradun, 8 May: The Doon International School Riverside Campus held its Investiture Ceremony, here, today. It marked the official installation of the newly elected Student Council. Present were the school’s Directors, HS Mann and Sonika Mann, who were the Guests of Honour.
The event began with the formal oath-taking ceremony led by Head Boy Abhishek Raj Verma and Head Girl Masum Lathiya, who pledged to carry out their duties with integrity and commitment. They were joined by Vice-Heads Ariz Parwez and Anushka Malik, Sports Captains Abdul Ahad and Himanshi Chauhan, and House Captains and Prefects from Churchill, Gandhi, Lincoln, and Mandela Houses. Cultural and Hostel Captains, along with the Editorial Board members of Riveria, the school magazine, were also conferred leadership responsibilities.
Badges and sashes were ceremoniously presented by the respective Teachers In-Charge and House Masters, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the proceedings. Proud parents of the student leaders were present and witnessed their children step into roles of responsibility.
The Head Boy and Head Girl delivered heartfelt speeches, outlining their vision for the school and expressing gratitude for the trust reposed in them. HS Mann encouraged the council to lead with courage and empathy. He also reminded them that leadership is best reflected in everyday actions.
The ceremony concluded with the resonant notes of the school song, echoing the values of honour, discipline, and service that the school upholds.
