Dehradun, 15 May: The Circuit Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Delhi, will convene physically in Nainital from 19 to 23 May to hear pending cases from the Uttarakhand region. An official notification has been issued regarding this by the Tribunal. The division bench for the hearings will comprise Sanjeev Kumar, Member (Administrative), and Ajay Pratap Singh, Member (Judicial), both from the Principal Bench of CAT in New Delhi. This special arrangement aims to expedite the resolution of long standing cases pertaining to Uttarakhand.

The official sources stated that this decision has been taken with the approval of the Chairman of the Central Administrative Tribunal. The notification released by CAT has urged all the parties concerned to ensure necessary preparations for the hearings. This Circuit Bench is expected to provide a crucial opportunity for government employees, retired officials, and relevant departments in Uttarakhand to get their pending cases heard and resolved efficiently.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, the Uttarakhand High Court has issued a notification to enhance transparency and streamline the hearing process for bail applications. As per the Chief Justice’s order, if a prior bail application of an accused has been withdrawn or dismissed due to the absence of the prosecution, their subsequent bail application will be listed as per the regular roster.

An office memorandum issued on 13 May by the Registrar, Judicial, of the Uttarakhand High Court states that this procedure will help conserve the court’s valuable time while ensuring due process for accused individuals filing fresh bail applications. Likewise, if an anticipatory bail application has been disposed of due to withdrawal or prosecution absence, any subsequent anticipatory or regular bail application will be listed as per the roster. This measure aims to streamline judicial proceedings and uphold fairness for those seeking bail.
